Vegan Sloppy Joes
1 tablespoon canola oil3 cloves garlic
4 mini sweet red/yellow peppers (or 1 large pepper)
2 shallots, chopped
2 1/2 cup tomato sauce
1 12oz pkg Smart Ground
2 tablespoon wasabi mustard
2 teaspoon chili powder
1 tablespoon tamari or soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon sugar
6 toasted hamburger buns
Preparation:
In a large skillet, saute the garlic, peppers and shallots in canola oil for 3 to 5 minutes, or until soft. Reduce heat to medium low and add the remaining ingredients (except buns) and stir well to combine. Allow to simmer for at least 15 more minutes.Spoon onto hamburger buns and serve hot.
